We, APECS Finland (Association of Polar Early Career Scientists), are welcoming you to our webinar series "Polar Connections".  The goal is to create a space for networking and learning among everyone involved in polar research in Finland, as well as in different organisations, networks and communities acting in polar fields. Each webinar features researchers (Early career AND Professors) from a specific field of Finnish polar research with an accessible presentation and a Q&A.

The next Webinar focus on interactions between ocean, atmosphere and sea ice, and how we can study those from Earth System Models. Cecilia Äijälä, doctoral researcher at the University of Helsinki, will talk to us about sea ice and ocean physics in the Barents and Kara Sea by comparing reanalysis and model data. Aleksi Nummelin, research professor at the Finnish Meteorological Institute, will talk about how simulations of the past and the future under different climate scenarios help us understand Arctic Amplification and its consequences.

========
APECS Finland is growing to become the Finnish National Committee of APECS International (Association of Polar Early Career Scientists) – a global organization dedicated to supporting and connecting early-career researchers working in polar and Arctic science.
We are looking for network members and/or active board members:
