Akatemiahankkeiden hakuilmoituksessa todetaan, että hankekoko voi olla toimikunnan linjausta suurempi, jos se on tohtorikoulutuksen takia perusteltua. Mitä tämä tarkoittaa ja kuinka paljon toimikunnan linjausta
suurempaa hankekokoa voi hakea?
Akatemia varaa vuoden 2024 tutkimusrahoituksessa lisärahoitusta tohtorikoulutuksen vahvistamiseen. Talvihaussa voi hakea toimikunnan linjausta suurempaa hankekokoa, mikäli
se on tohtorikoulutuksen vuoksi perusteltua, käytännössä palkkauskustannusten kautta: hankkeessa työskentelevien tohtorikoulutettavien palkkauskustannukset voi sisällyttää hankkeen kokonaiskustannuksiin siinä määrin, kun se on hankkeen tutkimussuunnitelman
kannalta perusteltua. Lisäksi voi sisällyttää vastuullisen johtajan palkkauskustannuksia (enintään 2 kuukautta / nelivuotinen hanke) hankkeeseen palkattavien väitöstutkimuksen ohjaamista varten.
Euromääräistä summaa tai prosenttiosuutta ei ole määritelty sille, minkä verran suurempi hankekoko voi olla. Budjetin on kuitenkin oltava realistinen ja mahdollinen hankekoon
ylitys maltillista.
Hankkeessa työskentelevien tohtorikoulutettavien tehtävät ja roolit sekä heidän tutkijanuransa edistäminen on tuotava selkeästi esille tutkimussuunnitelman kohdassa 3.1.

The call text for Academy Project Funding says that the project size may be larger, if it is justified in view of the doctoral training. What does this mean, and how much larger can the project size be in the
application than what the scientific council recommends?
We are earmarking 30 million euros of our 2024 funding budget to support doctoral training. You may apply for a larger project than what the scientific council outlines,
if it is justified in view of the doctoral training, in practice through salary costs: the salary costs of doctoral researchers working on the project may be included in the total project costs to an extent that is justified in terms of the research plan.
In addition, you can include the PI’s salary costs (up to 2 months per four-year project) for supervising the doctoral dissertation work of those hired for the project.
No euro amount or percentage has been specified for how much larger the project size can be. However, the budget must be realistic and any overshoot must be moderate.
The tasks and roles of the doctoral researchers and the promotion of their research careers must be clearly set out in the research plan (item 3.1).
