Aihe: PhD position in Urban Evolution at University of Helsinki
Hello everyone,
I am a new Academy of Finland fellow at the University of Helsinki, and as a part of that
grant I have an open PhD position for a project combining the evolutionary ecology of butterflies in cities and biology education. This position will be co-advised by Pauliina Rautio (University of Oulu) and Marjo Saastamoinen (University of Helsinki).
The project will involve field experiments to test the adaptive benefits of urban evolution,
and to conduct these experiments, we will work with school classes in and around Helsinki.
Because of the work with local schools, fluency in Finnish is required.
The deadline for applications is 24 November 2023.
