Kuten osa teistä jo tietää meiltä hajosi yksi -80© pakastimista viime viikolla. Tätä pakastinta ei voi enää korjata ja uutta emme tällä hetkellä pysty ostamaan. Jos joku olemassa olevista -80© pakastimista vielä sulaa emme pysty pelastamaan pakastimen sisältöä, koska meillä ei ole varapakastinta ja samasta syystä emme myöskään pysty sulattamaan pakastimia.

Se mitä voimme tehdä on, että kaikki te joilla on -80© pakastimissa näytteitä yms. tarkistakaa onko kaiken todella tarpeellista olla -80© jos ei siirtäkää -20© pakastimiin. Voitteko luopua jostakin? Huolehtikaa siitä, että räkeissä olevat laatikot ovat täysiä. Pakastimissa on myös materiaaleja henkilöiltä, jotka eivät enää ole pitkään aikaan olleet meillä töissä. Voitaisiinko näistä luopua kokonaan?

Jos pystymme em. toimin saamaan olemassa oleviin -80© pakastimiin lisää tilaa on se tällä hetkellä ainoa keino, jolla voimme varautua mahdolliseen -80© sulamisesta aiheutuvaan katastrofiin.

Koska tilanne on kriittinen sinä, jolla on -80© pakastimissa näytteitä kuittaa lukeneesi tämä viesti. Kuittaus tarkoittaa sitä, että seuraavan 2 viikon aikana käyt läpi omat näytteesi ja poistat ei tarpeelliset  tai siirrät materiaalia (jos mahdollista) -80©:sta -20© pakastimeen. Jos kuittausta ei tule – tulkitsemme, että meillä on lupasi hävittää materiaalit.

As some of you already know one of our -80© freezers melted last week and it cannot be repaired anymore and at this point we cannot afford a new freezer. This means that if some of the still existing -80© freezers melts we cannot save the content because we do not have any  extra freezer and for the same reason we are not either able to smelt the existing freezers.

What we can do is the following. All you who have something in -80© freezers, please, check at first whether all is needed to be stored in -80© if not please remove them to -20© freezers. Take care that the vertical racks and boxes in the racks are efficiently utilized (you can share both the racks and the boxes with your colleagues). In the -80© freezers there are also material  from people who haven’t been working in the departments for several years. If you are familiar with some of these cases would it be possible to get rid of this kind of material?

The only way to be prepared to the potential smelting of the  existing freezers (most of them are old) is to get  more space to the -80© freezers.

Due to the critical situation please acknowledge that you have read the email. Your acknowledgement means that during the next two weeks you will go through your material in the freezer, remove

the unnecessary ones or move the material to -20© (if possible). If we are not getting your acknowledgement  - we interpret that you have got us your permission to remove the material from the -80© freezer.
