Hello everybody,
Many of you know that some freezers/fridges have gone offline due to blown fuses or other problems over weekends which has rendered all the things inside useless. This has lead to interest
inside the unit regarding an complete alarm system for fridges/freezer that will send an notification for the owner if the temperature has started to increase at an alarming rate inside the cold storage. This would allow for some time to react and carry the
insides to another working cold storage.
If you
own a fridge/freezer inside the unit and
have interest on this subject, could you kindly reply to this email so I can scout how
many people would be interested in this setup or something similar to it.
Kaisa Lehosmaa hinted that there is a setup already in use in Luke/Syke in Joensuu, and similar setup could be also installed in Oulu.
Below is some information in English about this setup (my translation) and below that is the original message from Jukka Hirvonen in Finnish.

I could suggest to start with normal fridges and freezers that can have the sensor installed through the seal. We will use the built-in sensors and will make necessary holes according to the instruction
manuals if needed. Fridges and freezers can have a similar sensor. The sensor would be Dragino LHT65 (https://www.dragino.com/downloads/downloads/LHT65/UserManual/LHT65_Temperature_Humidity_Sensor_UserManual_v1.3.pdf)
which has an internal temperature and humidity sensor and DS18B20 external temperature sensor (that can be installed inside the freezer) with operating range -55 – 125c). The device has internal 2200mAh battery that can last for 10 years depending on the data
transmission interval (This can be adjusted through the SensorMonitor when the devices have been installed. The common transmission interval is 15 minutes, which is already excessive for monitoring freezers. Many have a transmission interval of 3-4 hours,
some critical freezers might have a shorter timeframe)
The cost for the device as installed is 50e/device VAT 0%.
How much is the installation cost per device?
-The devices are wireless, so the installation is simple and quick. If the freezers do not need holes to be made for the sensors, then they can be installed in 5min/device. The installation work
is 90e/h VAT 0% + travel expenses.
How much does the upkeep (data package etc) cost for the device per month?
The devices are the property of the owner, but the data costs 5e/device/month including 20 txt messages/month, no limit on email alerts, no limit on users per the device. If the
device count is larger than 50 devices, the pricing can be checked again.
Does the system need a separate server computer to operate?
The system works on cloud and does not need separate server for the network. The user interface work in typical browsers (chrome, firefox) and is responsive, so it works on both
computers and smart phones. It does not need separate software to work.
Does the system have power outage alert and temperature alert?
Alarms are set for different parameters, so for example it can alarm when temperature reaches hi or low value, if the device doesn’t transmit data when it should, or the battery
of the device falls too low.
Does the alarm come as a txt message/email/or some application?
The alarms come into the emails/phone numbers set by the user. For example email alarms can be send to 10 different persons, the same with txt messages (Notice 20 txt-messages/device/month,
if exceeded it will be 0,4e/message VAT 0%)
Does the device have a local alarm (light/sound)?
The device does not have a local alarm, but if this is required the solution an be developed to support this feature. It would consist of a light/sound that will come on when the
temperature exceeds/ goes below a set value.
What kind of temperatures can the device measure?
Dragino LHT65 can measure -55 – 125c as given by the manufacturer. Deep Freezers will have to use a thermocouple-based device but these have to be set separately for each device.
Deep Freezers commonly have built-in sensors that can be accessed through the serial ports so in many cases they dont need separate sensors.
And I want to remind again that the devices supplied through us work on Digita’s LoraWAN network (and are accepted by Digita). This means that the devices are not married to SensorMonitor
interface and can later on be transferred over to other interfaces if the customer requires.

Tervehdys
Voisin ehdottaa että lähdetään ensin liikenteeseen ns. helpoista kohteista eli normaalit jääkaapit ja pakastimet joissa sensorin johto voidaan vetää kylmälaitteen oven tiivisteen välistä (normaalit jääkaapit ja pakastimet).
Toki käytetään läpivientejä jos on saatavilla tai tehdään läpiviennit mikäli kaapissa on siihen valmiudet ja laitteen dokumentaatio löytyy läpiviennin toteutukseen.
Nämä jääkaapit ja pakastimet voidaan sensoroida samantyyppisellä sensorilla. Sensori olisi Dragino LHT65 (https://www.dragino.com/downloads/downloads/LHT65/UserManual/LHT65_Temperature_Humidity_Sensor_UserManual_v1.3.pdf)
jossa sisäinen lämpötila/kosteus mittaus sekä ulkoinen (kylmälaitteen sisälle vedettävä) DS18B20 tyypin lämpötilasensori (käyttölämpötila -55 - 125). Laitteessa sisäänrakennettu 2200mAh akku joka kestää jopa 10 vuotta riippuen asetetusta lähetysvälistä (lähetysväli
voidaan säätää myös sensormonitor järjestelmän kautta kun laitteet on asennettu. Laitteen vakio lähetysväli taitaa olla 15min joka on kylmälaiteseurantaan aivan liian tiheä. Muissa kohteissa käytetty 3-4h lähetysväliä, kriittisissä kylmälaitteissa voi olla
tiheämpikin).
Laitteen hinta asennusvalmiina 50€/laite alv 0%.
Paljonko asennushinta on per laite?
- Laitteet ovat langattomia joten asennus on yksinkertainen ja nopea. Jos läpivientejä ei tarvitse tehdä niin 5min/laite. Työn osuus meillä on ollut 90€/h
alv 0% + matkakustannukset.
Paljonko kuukausimaksu on per laite?
- Laitteet itsessään ovat asiakkaan omaisuutta mutta käyttöliittymämaksu on 5€/laite/kk
sisältäen rajattoman määrän käyttäjätunnuksia, käyttöliittymän kaikki ominaisuudet (ei lisämaksullisia piiloominaisuuksia), rajattomat hälytykset sähköposteihin sekä 20 hälytystä tekstiviestinä/laite/kk. Mikäli laitemäärä kasvaa suureksi (>50 laitetta) voidaan
tarkistaa hinnoittelua hieman.
Vaatiiko järjestelmä vielä normaalin PC pyörittämään serveriä?
- Ei vaadi, järjestelmä on pilvipalvelu eikä vaadi sensoreille erillisiä tietoliikenneyhteyksiä. Käyttöliittymä on selainpohjainen ja responsiivinen joten
toimii sekä tietokoneilla että mobiililaitteilla. Erillisiä ohjelmistoasennuksia ei tarvitse.
Onko hälytyksessä jännitevahti ja/tai lämpötilavahti?
- Hälytykset säädetään jokaiselle parametrille eli esim lämpötila saadaan hälyttämään
ala/ylä rajasta, mikäli laite ei lähetä dataa jostain syystä niin järjestelmä hälyttää, laitteen akkujännitteen laskeminen hälyttää jne.
Tuleeko hälytys tekstiviestinä/sähköpostina/johonkin sovellukseen?
- Hälytykset tulevat käyttäjien määrittelemiin sähköposteihin/puhelinnumeroihin.
Esim sähköpostihälytykset voidaan laittaa vaikka 10 käyttäjälle samoin tekstiviestit (tekstiviesteissä rajana 20 viestiä/laite/kk, ylimenevät laskutetaan erikseen 0,4€/viesti alv 0%)
Onko hälytyslaitteessa paikallista hälytystä (valo/ääni)?
- Laitteissa ei ole paikallista merkkiä hälytyksestä mutta jos tällaiselle tarve
voidaan etsiä tähän ratkaisu ja kehittää järjestelmää tukemaan tällaista toiminoa. Kyse olisi erillisestä valo/ääni laitteesta joka saa signaalin mikäli mikä tahansa asetettu raja ylitetään/alitetaan.
Kuinka laajaa lämpötila-aluetta laite pystyy mittaamaan?
- Dragino LHT65 pystyy mittaamaan -55 - 125 (laitevalmistajan ilmoittama). Syväjääpakastimiin
joudutaan käyttämään termoparipohjaista laitetta mutta nämä katsottava laitekohtaisesti. Syväjääpakastimissa yleensä sisäänrakennetut anturit joita voidaan käyttää kylmälaitteen sarjaporttien kautta niin erillisiä sensoreita ei tarvitse asentaa.
Saako laitteeseen yläraja- ja alaraja-hälytyksen?
- Kyllä saa, SensorMonitor järjestelmään liitettyjen laitteiden mikä tahansa parametri
saadaan hälytysjärjestelmään.
Ja tosiaan vielä korostan että kaikki meidänkautta tulevat laitteet toimivat Digitan LoraWAN verkossa (ja ovat Digitan hyväksyttyjä). Tämä tarkoittaa että
laitteet eivät ole sidottuja pelkästään tähän järjestelmään joka antaa asiakkaalle hyvän exitin mikäli järjestelmä halutaan joskus tulevaisuudessa siirtää toisen käyttöliittymän piiriin.
