Hi! The photo gallery of the unit in the corridor is finally starting to be mostly completed, even though many photos are still coming up. If you haven’t had the opportunity to attend the photo session, please contact me. Now I can confess that I was a quite inexperienced photographer with portraits before this. So, if the photos are successful, it’s because each of you has dazzling personality, and my camera just captured it. I’m truly privileged to have met you and experienced all of this. I really hope that those pictures can tell you how wonderful people are here in our unit.
Here is the official user guide to help you get the most out of this photo gallery (please don’t skip it even if you tend to skip reading all kind of user guides 😉):
How to use the photo gallery:
1. When future makes you feel anxious and overwhelmed, or you feel isolated and invisible, go stand in front of the gallery. 2. Close your eyes and take a deep breath in and out slowly 3 times. 3. Open your eyes and see what you have now – you do have this community, a bunch of people who are in the same mess as you right now or who have experienced the same situation as you in their past. Notice how much you could get support from them and how much you could offer support to them. 4. Go talk to the person whose smile or eyes resonate with you the most, regardless of whether you already know her/him or not. (You’ll find her/him on the map or lab!)
Repeat 1-4 if needed.
Perhaps I started this photo gallery project just because I wanted to put my own picture on the wall and see concretely myself as a part of the community. But in the end, even more I wanted to make all of us one huge “patchwork quilt” and show you that you are such a super unique and important part of this beautiful quilt. You might think you are replaceable, but it’s not true. Even though the quilt grows with new pieces, I know in my heart that no one is like you. And under this special quilt I feel warm, safe and I can see the light of hope in both bright and dark times – because of you.

Hei! Bilsan käytävän henkilökunnan valokuvagalleria alkaa olla melkein valmis, vaikka monet tärkeät kuvat ovat vielä tulossa (osan kanssa vielä kuvaus jatkuu, ja ota yhteyttä, ellet ole saanut tilaisuutta päästä kuvaussessioon!) Nyt voin (ehkä?) rauhallisin mielin tunnustaa, etten ole aiemmin juurikaan kuvannut ihmisiä 😅 Siispä jos kuvat ovat onnistuneet, se johtuu puhtaasti siitä, että jokaisella on häikäisevän upea persoona, ja kamerani vain vangitsi sen. Olen todella etuoikeutettu, kun sain tavata sinut ja kokea tämän kaiken. Toivottavasti kuvat osaavat kertoa puolestani, miten ihania ihmisiä täällä meidän yksikössämme on.
Tässä on virallinen käyttöohje, jonka avulla saat maksimaalista hyötyä tästä valokuvagalleriasta (älä skippaa tätä, vaikka normaalisti jättäisitkin lukematta käyttöohjeita 😉):
Henkilökunnan valokuvagallerian käyttöohje:
1. Kun tulevaisuus ym. ahdistaa, mene seisomaan valokuvagallerian eteen. 2. Sulje silmäsi ja hengitä hitaasti 3 kertaa sisään ja ulos. 3. Avaa silmäsi ja näe mitä sinulla on nyt – sinulla on tämä yhteisö, joukko ihmisiä, jotka ovat samassa jamassa kuin sinä juuri nyt tai jotka ovat kokeneet joskus aikaisemmin samaa kuin sinä nyt. Huomaa, miten paljon voisit saada tukea heiltä ja miten paljon sinä voisit tarjota tukea heille. 4. Mene juttelemaan henkilön kanssa, jonka hymy tai katse resonoi sinussa nyt eniten riippumatta siitä, tunnetko hänet ennestään tai et. (Löydät hänen työpisteensä mahdollisesti viereisestä kartasta tai labrasta!)
Toista 1–4 tarvittaessa.
Aloitin tämän valokuvausprojektin ehkä siksi, koska halusin laittaa oman kuvani seinälle ja nähdä itseni konkreettisesti osana tätä yhteisöä. Mutta lopulta sitäkin enemmän halusin tehdä meistä kaikista yhden suuren tilkkutäkin ja näyttää sinulle, että olet todella ainutlaatuinen ja tärkeä osa tätä kaunista torkkupeittoa. Ja kertoa sinulle sen, että tämän täkin alla tunnen lämpöä, turvaa ja toivonvalon olemassaoloa niin aurinkoisena kuin pimeimpänä aikana – sinun ansiostasi.
