Hi all,
see below for information for the MSCA postdoc funding!
Especially, note two things: - you can advertise your group to prospective applicants at EURAXESS - also people already in Oulu can apply, if they have been in Finland <12 months at the time of call deadline
These are very good funding, and the support services are very helpful in preparing these, so please consider if you have suitable candidates in your networks or are eligible yourself.
Cheers, Heikki
The MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships support PhD researchers in advancing their careers through international mobility and training. These fellowships enable researchers to work abroad, gain new skills, and develop their careers. 2025 Call Details
* Opens: April 9th * Closes: September 10th * Decisions: Around February 2026 Types of MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships: European Postdoctoral Fellowships are available to researchers worldwide moving to or within Europe. The fellowships last 1-2 years and are open to any nationality. The application must be submitted jointly by the researcher and the host organization.
Researchers from the University of Oulu can also apply. As long as they have spent less than one year in Finland (in total over the last three years) by the application deadline of September 10th, they are eligible. Global Postdoctoral Fellowships provide funding for researchers to work outside Europe for 2 to 3 years. The initial 1 to 2 years must be spent in a non-associated Third Country, followed by a mandatory 1-year period in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country. Eligibility requires applicants to be nationals or long-term residents of these regions. Requirements for Eligibility
* PhD Degree: Applicants should have a PhD degree at the time of the deadline for applications. Applicants who have successfully defended their doctoral thesis but who have not yet formally been awarded the doctoral degree will also be considered eligible to apply. * Research Experience: Applicants must have a maximum of eight years of experience in research, from the date of the award of their PhD degree. Years of experience outside research and career breaks will not count towards the above maximum, nor will years of experience in research in third countries, for nationals or long-term residents of EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries who wish to reintegrate to Europe. * Mobility Rules: Applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the beneficiary (for European Postdoctoral Fellowships), or the host organisation for the outgoing phase (for Global Postdoctoral Fellowships) for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before the call deadline.
