UNIVERSITY OF OULU SCHOLARSHIP FUND CALL FOR GRANTS 2023

The Scholarship Fund of the University of Oulu opens the call for research grants. The awarded grants are typically between 3000 and 5000 euros. Researchers who have completed a Master’s degree are eligible for researcher grants. Only travel or other expenses are not awarded. The prerequisite for applying for a grant is the right to postgraduate studies and a doctoral education plan approved by the UOulu graduate school (UniOGS).  Applications are to be submitted by October 19, 2023 to the grant system: https://oulunyliopistonapuraharahasto.apurahat.net

The next call for Academy Research Fellowships and Academy Project Funding   - Winter call replaces autumn  call

The Academy of Finland has changed its call schedules and the review of applications. The next application round for Academy Project Funding, Academy Research Fellowships and Clinical Researcher Funding will open in November  15th 2023. and the call closes on 17th January 2024. The funding decisions will be made by June 2024.  The review panels have been published with the description of the changes to the review process: Research Council of Finland

NordForsk Nordic-Baltic Green Transition Call

Call open: Green Transition - Insights (nordforsk.org) , DL 5.12.2023

Three topics:

1) The first topic calls for new insights New insights on energy efficient, resilient, and sustainable food systems (Available budget: Minimum NOK 24,9 million).

2)The second topic addresses the importance of including gender perspectives in the green transition, for it to be just, effective, and long-lasting (Available budget: Minimum NOK 13,8 million).

3) The third topic concerns democratic engagement and citizen-involvement in the green transition (Available budget: Minimum NOK 48,1 million).

Maximum amount of funding that may be sought per project: NOK 15 million.

 

 

Water4All 2023 Joint Transnational Call: Aquatic Ecosystem Services

Call open: 12.9.2023 - 13.11.2023

The European Partnership Water4All has pre-announced a joint transnational call for research and innovation projects on “Aquatic Ecosystem Services”. The call will support research to improve water security in the long term. The call has two stages (preproposals and full proposals). Each consortium must be composed of at least three eligible partners that request funding from participating organizations from three different countries participating in the call.

SRC /STN - Strategic Research Council, draft themes for 2024

Draft themes for SRC strategic research programmes 2024 are:  Water for welfare, security and peace and Interactions of immigration, work and wellbeing in future Finland

The proposed cross-cutting priority of the 2024 SRC programmes is democracy. The call will be open later this year (usually in October/November).

 

Preliminary information: NordForsk, Call on Arctic Research

The NordForsk board has decided to open a call on Arctic research in the beginning  of next year. It will be a call for free bottom up, radical interdisciplinary, research projects (cooperation between USA and Canada is possible). Further details of the call will be available later.

Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation supports high-level, international scientific research as well as arts and culture. The Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation accepts grant applications every day of the year. Decisions to award grants are made by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, which meets four times a year in March, May, September and December. Average processing time for applications is 4–6 months

The Finnish Research Impact Foundation: Tandem Industry Academia (TIA) Professor call, deadline 15th of October

TIA Professor funding is intended to support joint research projects undertaken by professors working at universities and research institutes in partnership with an industrial company.

Foundation for Research of Natural Resources in Finland: Grant call for Bio-economy and Mineral economy, call deadline 14th of October

The call for grant applications is open to talented and innovative doctoral students and post-doc researchers. Innovations can be processes, technologies, products, services or social innovations related to Finnish natural resources.

The Finnish Cultural Foundation awards grants for scientific and artistic work as well as for projects and acquisitions from the October round of applications.

 

The Finnish Cultural Foundation - Additional Million-euro funding to Science, DL 31.10.2023

The Finnish Cultural Foundation will award EUR 1 million under the theme 'Finland’s competitiveness in industry, business or creative fields' in the October 2023 round of applications. The funding will be used to support no more than five research projects. The grant is intended for working groups consisting of more than one researcher. . All scientific work in the project will be remunerated as working grants, not as salaries.

PoDoCo program is aimed for young doctors who have recently completed or will soon complete their doctoral degree. There is no limitations regarding the branch of science or branch of industry.
