Dear Susanna,
I received your details from your colleague Elina Komminaho in the Human Resources Services. I have recently moved to Oulu with my boyfriend who has been appointed Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. I have now begun exploring my options regarding employment, and Elina suggested that I get in touch with you.
I am currently writing up my doctoral thesis in Biology, and my research is focused on identifying genetic and environmental factors contributing to the development and severity of atopic asthma in Madeira Island population. I expect to submit my thesis to the University of Madeira (Portugal) by the end of the year. In addition to my research experience, during the last semester I was a teacher in a secondary school in Portugal, teaching biology and geology to 7th and 8th grade classes (one of which consisted of students with learning difficulties).
