Intellectual property rights (IPR) can seem distant in the university world. But we all deal with them every day. We all produce, and use works protected by copyright (e.g., computer programs, images, databases, texts). In addition, research creates inventions that can be patented and thus be the seeds of new business.

Use the opportunity to learn more in following online trainings (in English):

1. 20^th September at 10-11: Why and how do I report an invention?
• Recommend to all who work in projects funded by EU, Business Finland, company, etc. Inventions are one measurable result that need to be reported to the funder.

2. 28^th September at 14-15: Copyright in education in a nutshell
• Do you know who owns the copyright? What does the Kopiosto license enable? Do you know image citation and CC licenses?

3. 2-5^th October: IP Rights and Research
• Basic of copyrights, trademarks, patents, patent databases and how inventions are handled at our University.
• 0.5 ECTS
