Dear all,

Here is a gentle reminder of tomorrow's Journal Club session on Supergenes and their implication in conservation genomics.

Welcome all, no need to register. You can find the readings in the moodle page below.

Kind Regards,

Subject: [Biolphd] Journal Club on Friday: Species or no species? Supergenes' effect on bird phenotypes and evolution

This Friday, the Biology Journal Club will discuss the roles of Supergenes in the context of conservation genomics.  Welcome at 10:15 in TM113, no registration needed.
The session is led by Stefan Prost from the Biodiversity Genomics research group.
There are 3 main readings, but two of them are short 1-page case examples. If you like the topic, you may also read the 2 extended readings as a bonus.
Readings are available in the moodle page section (self-enrolment key: journal ) and enclosed here for convenience:
Paper 1 - A supergene underlies linked variation in color and morphology in a Holarctic songbird.pdf
Paper 2 - Avian supergenes.pdf
Paper 3 - How carrion and hooded crows defeat Linnaeus curse.pdf
Bonus:
Extended readings.zip
Everyone is welcome to the Journal Club (PhD and others) to hear about new concepts or engage in critical discussions.  Here are the next sessions:
