Fulbright Arctic Initiative -ohjelman neljäs hakukierros on nyt auki arktisten asioiden parissa työskenteleville tutkijoille, ammattilaisille ja taiteilijoille

Ohjelma tarjoaa ainutlaatuisen mahdollisuuden arktisten asioiden parissa työskenteleville asiantuntijoille päästä mukaan monialaiseen kansainväliseen tutkimusyhteistyöhön. Mukaan valitaan yhteensä noin 19 arktisten asioiden asiantuntijaa, jotka tekevät yhteistyötä 18 kuukauden ajan alkaen syksyllä 2024. Ohjelmaan voivat hakea asiantuntijat Arktisen neuvoston jäsenmaista eli Suomesta, Kanadasta, Tanskasta, Islannista, Norjasta, Venäjältä, Ruotsista ja Yhdysvalloista. Ohjelmaan valitut stipendiaatit tekevät temaattista yhteistyötä muodostaen arktisen asiantuntijaverkoston keskittyen kolmeen ennalta määrättyyn laajempaan arktiseen teemaan:

* Climate Change and Arctic Resources * Arctic Security and Governance * Mental Health and Well-Being Temaattisen yhteistyön lisäksi stipendiaatit muun muassa kokoontuvat seminaareissa sekä suorittavat tutkijavierailun yhdessä osallistujamaassa (suomalaiset vierailevat Yhdysvalloissa 6 vk – 3kk).

*** Fulbright Arctic Initiative

The application round for the fourth cohort of the Fulbright Arctic Initiative is now open for scholars, professionals, and applied researchers in Arctic issues.

The Fulbright Arctic Initiative offers a unique opportunity for experts in arctic issues to be a part of unique international research collaboration. Approximately 19 outstanding experts will be selected to the program and the program activities will take place over 18 months starting in the fall 2024. The application round is open for scholars from the eight Arctic Council member states—Finland, Canada, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Russia, Sweden, and the United States. The network will focus their collaborative work on three predetermined broad focus areas on Arctic issues:

* Climate Change and Arctic Resources * Arctic Security and Governance * Mental Health and Well Being In addition to thematic group collaboration, the selected grantees will participate in an individual Fulbright exchange of a minimum of six weeks up to three months (Finnish scholars will travel to the United States, and U.S. scholars will be able to come to Finland), as well as in-person seminars and ongoing virtual communication, all supporting the scholars’ required collaborative research projects.
