While we would normally share some food with colleagues in December, this year I instead shared it with some neighbours, who I've been getting to know better when working from home. They're nice company, but discussing research ideas with them has been less fruitful so far.

I started in University of Oulu as a biology student in 1999. In 2021, it will be about a time to move on. Thank you everyone: teachers, mentors, colleagues and students for all these years! You have made me who I am as a scientist. And thank you for the lovely necklace and other thoughtful gifts! I just broke the necklace I got after my PhD, so the timing was perfect!
