Tervetuloa henkilöstön ja opiskelijoiden kuulemistilaisuuteen, joka liittyy tutkimusyksikön johtajan valintaan nelivuotiskaudeksi 1.1.2026-31.12.2029. Kyseessä on yliopiston johtosäännön edellyttämä kuulemistilaisuus. Kuulemistilaisuus pidetään 26.11.2025 klo 11:00 alkaen salissa L2. Tehtävään on ehdolla professori Heikki Helanterä. Tilaisuudessa ehdokas esittäytyy ja hänelle on mahdollisuus esittää kysymyksiä. Oulun yliopiston johtosäännön 13 §:n mukaan: ’Tutkimusyksikön johtajan nimeää dekaani henkilöstöä ja opiskelijoita kuultuaan. Tutkimusyksikön johtajan toimikausi on neljä vuotta. Dekaani nimeää tarvittaessa yksikön johtajalle sijaisen. Dekaani voi vapauttaa yksikön johtajan tehtävästään, jos siihen on tehtävän luonne huomioon ottaen hyväksyttävä ja perusteltu syy. Tutkimusyksikön johtajan tulee olla tohtorin tutkinnon suorittanut henkilö. Tutkimusyksikön johtajan koulutusvaatimuksesta voidaan rehtorin päätöksellä poiketa erityisen painavasta syystä. Yksikön johtajan tehtävänä on johtaa yksikön tutkimus-, opetus- ja muuta toimintaa taloudellisesti, tehokkaasti ja tuloksellisesti. Tutkimusyksikön johtaja vastaa yksikön toiminnan laadusta”

Please be invited to the hearing of personnel and students regarding the appointment of the head of a unit for the term 1.1.2026-31.12.2029. The hearing is mandated by the University Regulations. The hearing will be organized on the 26th of November 2025, starting at 11.00 o’clock in L2. The candidate for the position is professor Heikki Helanterä. In the event the candidate will introduce themself and the participants will have a possibility to ask questions. According the University Regulations, section 13: “The head of a research unit is appointed by the relevant faculty’s dean after having heard the personnel and students. The term of office of the head of a research unit is four years. The dean decides on substitution arrangements for the head of a unit. The dean may dismiss the head of a research unit from their duties provided that there is an acceptable and justified reason to do so with regard to the nature of said duties. The head of a research unit must hold a doctorate. The education requirement applicable to the head of a research unit may be departed from at the rector’s decision and for a particularly weighty reason. The head of a research unit is tasked with leading the unit’s research, education and other activities economically, efficiently and effectively. The head of a research unit is responsible for the quality of the unit’s activities.”
