Dear colleagues,

The Finnish Society for Environmental Science (FSES) organizes Finnish conference for Environmental Science 22nd May 2025 in Helsinki! Please join us and spread the word!

Themes All topics within environmental sciences are welcome! Topics in invited presentations include for example novel biomarkers in ecotoxicology and microplastics.

Location: Conference Center Pasila, Opastinsilta 12, Helsinki

Preliminary programme ● 9.00 Scientific programme ● 10:20 Coffee ● 10:40 Scientific programme ● 12:00 Lunch ● 13:00 Scientific programme ● 15:00-16:30 Visit to European Chemicals Agency ECHA

Invited speakers include for example: Junchao Shi, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Jussi Kukkonen, University of Eastern Finland Presentations include regular 15-20 min talks and speed talks. Key analytical companies (e.g. Thermo, Waters), will also present their latest products.

Abstract submission A max 250-word abstract should be submitted via https://www.fses.fi/ . We accept abstracts of any topic within environmental sciences. Students and early-career researchers are especially welcome. The best student speedtalk will be awarded a 100€ price! Deadline 1st April 2025.

Registration Registration fee is 10€ for students (MSc and PhD) and 40€ for other participants. The conference is free for student members of FSES. The fee includes the program, lunch, coffee and a tour to ECHA. Registration via https://www.fses.fi/. Deadline 1st April 2025.

PARALLEL CONFERENCE IN PESTICIDE RESEARCH Parallel to the conference, Nordic Pesticide Residue Workshop (NPRW) takes place 20-22.5.2025 at the same conference venue. Registration for NPRW also includes access to the Finnish Conference for Environmental Science. For details on the program and registration, see https://www.ruokavirasto.fi/en/NPRW2025. The registration fee for the 3-day event is 120 €, which includes a get-together event, coffee breaks, 2x lunches and dinner. Abstracts can be submitted either via NPRW or https://www.fses.fi/ Registration and abstract deadline is 1 April 2025.

THESIS PRIZE FOR THE BEST ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE MSC THESIS (500€) The society will award a 500€ prize to the best Environmental science Msc Thesis (Msc between May 2023-2025), in the conference. Please apply via https://www.fses.fihttps://www.fses.fi/
