Dear Seppo

My name is Dr Mark Jackson and I am a consultant for Opal Blue's new English refinement service. We are based in Oulu, providing you and your department with a local service for your professional English refinement needs.

I am originally from the UK where I obtained my PhD and physics degree but for the past two years, I have been living in Oulu. In February 2008, I was given the opportunity to work as a researcher in the Laboratory of Fibre and Particle Engineering within the Department of Process and Environmental Engineering under the guidance of Professor Jouko Niinimäki. During this time (up to December 2008) I was also responsible for checking and refining conference papers, articles, reports and theses to a level that would meet the high standards of the university or English and American based journals.

Although I am no longer working directly at the university, Professor Niinimäki still sends me material to be checked and refined on a freelance basis. With my knowledge of the English language and experience in writing theses and conference papers, I would like to offer the same service to you, to your department and to your research students.
