Call for course funding proposals for the development of doctoral training activities in Health and Biosciences<https://www.oulu.fi/uniogs/dp/hbsdp/call-course-funding> The Health and Biosciences Doctoral Programme (HBS-DP) will allocate funding to be used during the year 2020 to organize doctoral training activities within the following Doctoral Degree Programmes: Medicine, Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine, Health Sciences, Dentistry, and Biology. The proposed doctoral training activities may comprise e.g. field-specific courses, symposia, workshops or alike targeted mainly to doctoral students. Joint or methodological courses suitable for several disciplines and courses/events arranged in local, national or international cooperation are also applicable. Hei, Yliopiston uusi intranet, Patio, otetaan käyttöön 3. joulukuuta. Patio on henkilöstölle suunnattu sisäinen verkkopalvelu. Henkilöstölle järjestetään Kontinkankaalla Patio-infotilaisuus 4. joulukuuta. Palotie-sali 101A on varattu infoa varten. Info suomeksi klo 10.15-11.15 ja englanniksi klo 12.00-13.00. The new intranet, Patio, will be launched on December 3. Patio is an internal website for university personnel. We shall have a Patio info-session here in Kontinkangas on December 4. The Palotie-auditorium 101A is booked for us. The info in Finnish at 10.15-11.15 and in English at 12.00-13.00. Novo Nordisk Foundation grants

Dear Researchers, Novo Nordisk Foundation has 4 grants open for applications from researchers from the Nordic countries. The grants are targeted to researchers who wants to go abroad and to researchers in different career stages. Deadline is 15th of January 2020. Research fields that are funded: endocrinology and metabolism, relating to cellular energy homeostasis, and hormonal disorders of the endocrine system. Areas supported include research involving patients and/or clinical practice but could also include animal models, model organisms, cellular- or sub-cellular systems (with clear whole body relevance) as well as in silico analysis, with the overall purpose of solving challenges related to endocrinology and metabolism in health and disease. Please note that endocrinology is not restricted to diabetes. Research projects within all subfields of endocrinology, e.g. thyroid, reproduction, or bone and calcium metabolism can be supported.
