FIRI 2023 research infrastructure call: internal procedure at University of Oulu
The Academy of Finland is opening funding calls in April for national research infrastructures, aimed at roadmap infrastructures, international RI memberships and non-roadmap infrastructures. An internal procedure applies to all candidates in coordinator and partner roles.
The Academy of Finland requires all host organizations to prioritize their applications and this process starts with an internal idea call. All applicants will need to complete a Webropol questionnaire by 22 March to be included.
Below you will find information about the timeline and the internal procedure.
8 March
Calls are published on aka.fi

* Only applications with a permission from the Dean of the Faculty / Head of Separate Unit will be considered.
* The Webropol questionnaire will need to be carefully completed to give all the requested information.
* Both coordinator and partner role applications are included in the internal process.
* 30% contribution to funding is required from UniOulu.
* Call text will need to be read carefully before submission.

Calls are open and applications can be submitted via the SARA online portal.
Applicants will be required to submit a copy of the full proposal immediately after submission to terhi.kuusisto(a)oulu.fi<mailto:terhi.kuusisto@oulu.fi>
April - September
Applications are prioritized for the funder by the Rector and for this purpose they are processed by the Research Council and the Management Group for Research after the deadline of the calls. As part of the procedure, Deans/Heads of separate Units will be asked for their input on prioritization.

Dear Researchers
Publishing and sharing metadata of research data is required by many funders and publishers, and it is essential part of responsible research. CSC´s Qvain<https://www.fairdata.fi/en/qvain/> is a free and user-friendly way to publish metadata and get a permanent identifier (PID) for research data.
Have you got questions about how to use Qvain to describe your research data? In this workshop you will get practical tips on how to use Qvain and how you can increase the visibility and impact of your research outputs by linking outputs with each other using PID.
This is meant for researchers with some previous knowledge of Qvain.
The workshop will be at Kontinkangas in computer classroom KT285, on Wednesday, February 22nd at 9:00-11.00 am.
Register to the workshop no later than Monday 20th of February: Link<https://link.webropol.com/s/Qvain-workshop>. The maximum number of participants is 16.
Note! An account to Qvain demo environment will be provided for all participants. If you wish to use this opportunity to describe your genuine research data in Qvain, it is possible. For that you need to have your personal CSC account ready. If you do not have it yet, please, apply for it beforehand from https://my.csc.fi/ (On that page: -> Get started -> Select authentication provider -> Haka).
Also, you can bring your own laptop.
Welcome!
