Jos olet osallistumassa Oulun yliopiston järjestämään konferenssiin tai koulutukseen ja tapahtumaan liittyen tulee maksaa osallistumismaksu, maksua ei saa maksaa omalla rahalla, jos aiot tehdä siitä kululaskun yliopistolle. Talouspalveluille on tullut viime aikoina paljon kululaskuja tällaisiin tapahtumiin liittyen ja näitä kululaskuja ei hyväksytä kirjanpidossa. Olemme joutuneet palauttamaan rahoja takaisin henkilökunnalle ja tämä aiheuttaa paljon ylimääräistä työtä talouspalveluille. Älkää jatkossa siis maksako omalla rahalla Oulun yliopiston järjestämiä tapahtumamaksuja. Kun olet rekisteröitymässä Oulun yliopiston järjestämään tapahtumaan, rekisteröityessä pitäisi voida käyttää maksutonta vaihtoehtoa. Jos tällaista vaihtoehtoa ei ole, kannattaa tapahtuman järjestäjää pyytää järjestämään sellainen. English: Hello everyone, Brief instructions on conference, training or other event fees organised by the University of Oulu. If you are attending a conference or training organised by the University of Oulu and a participation fee must be paid for the event, the fee may not be paid with your own money if you intend to make it an expense claim for the university. There have recently been a lot of expense invoices for financial services related to such events and these expense invoices are not accepted in accounting. We have had to return the money back to the staff and this causes a lot of extra work for financial services. In the future, therefore, do not pay the event fees arranged by the University of Oulu with your own money. When you are registering for an event organised by the University of Oulu, it should be possible to use the free-of-charge option when registering. If there is no such option, it is worth asking the event organizer to arrange one. Dear all, next Thursday, April 4 we will have a Kontinkangas Research Seminar in F202, 15.15-. Our guest speaker is Dr. Francesco De Angelis, Plasmon Nanotechnology, Italian Institute of Technology, Genova, Italy . The title of his presentation is "Hybrid interfaces between nanosensors and living cells". "The main goal of research activity is to exploit advanced nanofabrication techniques for controlling the properties and the response of materials at the nanoscales. Particularly, we cover all of the aspects of the research spanning form the design to the fabrication, characterization and practical applications of nanodevices. The majority of the activity concerns the applications of photonic and plasmonic devices to biology and bio-sensing." Thank you so much for all who already made such nice proposals to supervise EBDS master students! There is still room for our internal call for Master’s thesis proposals for the International Master’s programme Epidemiology and Biomedical Data Science (EBDS) 2023-2025. Please see the extended dead-line below. As part of their study the EBDS students must carry on a 6 to 9 months master’s thesis to gain further experience in epidemiology and(/or) biomedical data science. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Important: The learning outcome of the thesis is not to write a publication but to learn and practice research methods in epidemiology and data science as well as to build skill set to design and independently conduct a research project. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are very proud of our students.
