Hei, This message concerns the patent database course that is kept in Finnish. The same course will be arranged in English in May 6-7, 2026. Tiesitkö, että jopa 80 % kaikista teknisistä tiedoista löytyy vain patenttijulkaisuista? Jos luet vain tieteellisiä artikkeleita, et saa kokonaiskuvaa nykyisestä tekniikan tasosta. Patentit eivät ole tärkeitä vain keksintöjen yhteydessä. Hyödynnä niiden tietoja myös suunnitellessasi uutta tutkimusprojektia. Tee vaikutus rahoittajiin! Dear all, Next Thursday, October 23, there will be a seminar at 15.15-16 in F202 Pharmacology by Professor Jian Ye, School of Biomedical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. The title of the seminar is "Single-molecule Raman detection of metabolites and toxins". Prof. Ye's Biography<https://en.bme.sjtu.edu.cn/show-33-80.html> Jian Ye received his B.E. degree in 2000 and M.S. degree in 2003 from Zhejiang University and Ph.D. degree in 2010 from KU Leuven (Belgium). In 2003-2005, he was at Intel Products (Shanghai) Ltd. as a material engineer. In 2010-2013, he was a senior researcher and Postdoctoral Fellow in imec vzw (Belgium) supported by Research Foundation of Flanders (FWO). In 2011, Dr. Ye was with Prof. Naomi Halas at Rice University as a visiting scholar. He joined Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) in 2013 and was promoted as a full professor in 2018. Since 2020, he has been the vice dean of the School of Biomedical Engineering in SJTU. Dr. Ye has received a number of awards including Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad (2009), Outstanding Youth Fund from Chinese National Natural Science Foundation (2016) and Journal of Materials Chemistry B 2020 Emerging Investigators. His research interests include biomedical applications of plasmonic nanostructures and surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy. He has published over 78 peer-reviewed papers in international journals including Nature, Nature Communications, Nano Letters, ACS Nano, Small and Biomaterials. Hei, Ensi viikon tiistaina 21.10. on sähkökatkos klo 7-9. Liitteessä on punaisella merkitty alue, jota sähkökatkos koskee. Sähkökatkoksen aikana sähköt ovat täysin pois eli esim. kattolamputkaan eivät toimi. Sähköt voivat palautua aiemmin mutta kuitenkin viimeistään klo 9. Laitteet, tietokoneet, jne. on hyvä sammuttaa maanantaina ennen kuin lähdette töistä. Hi, Next week, Tuesday, October 21st, there will be a power outage from 7 am to 9 am. The area affected by the power outage is marked in red in the appendix. During the power outage, the electricity will be completely off, meaning that even the ceiling lights will not work. OYS tiedottaa / OYS announces progress in demolition work

OYSin vanhan lastenklinikan purkutyöt etenevät konepurkuun Oulun yliopistollisen sairaalan L-osan eli vanhan lastenklinikan purkaminen on käynnissä, ja työt etenevät konepurkuun lokakuun aikana. Töistä voi aiheutua lähialueelle ajoittaista melua ja tärinää. Pahoittelemme purkutöistä aiheutuvaa haittaa. Työt liittyvät OYSin uuden sairaalan rakentamiseen. L-osan purkaminen jatkuu kesäkuuhun 2026 saakka, minkä jälkeen paikalla käynnistyvät lastenpsykiatrian uudisrakennuksen rakennustyöt. Tiedotamme rakentamisen alkamisesta tarkemmin erikseen. The work may cause occasional noise and vibration in the surrounding area. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the demolition activities. The project is part of the construction of the new Oulu University Hospital. Demolition of Section L will continue until June 2026, after which construction will begin on the new child psychiatry building. We will provide more detailed information about the start of construction later.
