Subject: [Ltkhkunta] SOLE TM SOLE suljetaan syyskuun osalta torstaina 2.10.2014, joka on myös viimeinen hyväksymispäivä. Syyskuun tunnit pitää kirjata SOLEeen viimeistään tiistaina 30.9.2014, koska palvelupisteelle pitää jäädä aikaa tarkastaa projekteille kirjatut tunnit ja pyytää mahdolliset korjaukset ja täydennykset. HUOM!!!! SOLEen tehdään esilukitus keskiviikkona 1.10. 2014 eli peruskäyttäjät eivät pysty kirjaamaan tuntejaan enää torstaina 2.10.2014. Samalla muistutan myös SUUNNITELMIEN tekemisestä. Kokonaistyöajassa olevien, perusrahalla palkattujen tutkijoiden ja opettajien tulee tehdä suunnitelma, joka koskee joko syyslukukautta 1.8. -31.12.2014 tai koko lukuvuotta 1.8.2014 - 31.7.2015, työsopimuksesta riippuen. Kun olette tehneet suunnitelmanne valmiiksi, niin ilmoittakaa laitoksenne esimiehelle, että hän voi käydä hyväksymässä suunnitelman, jolloin tunnit kirjautuvat kuukausittain järjestelmään. Jos tutkija tai opettaja on lukukauden tai lukuvuoden aikana palkattuna projektilta, vaikkapa vain viikon, niin hänen on parasta tehdä kirjaukset viikottaisina/päivittäisinä. HUOM! Valmiista suunnitelmasta ei mene sähköposti-ilmoitusta esimiehelle, vaan suunnitelman tekijän pitää muistaa ilmoittaa, että suunnitelman voi käydä vahvistamassa. Research works produces also IP rights. Come to listen to interesting talks and learn how you can protect and utilize your results more efficiently! Subject: [Mrcouluohjaajat] SA-avoin julkaiseminen/AoF open access publication Hyvät akatemian hakemuksen parissa työskentelevät, Moni on kysynyt akatemian uudesta linjauksesta koskien avointa julkaisemista: http://www.aka.fi/Tiedostot/liitteet/Avoin_julkaiseminen_ja_tutkimusaineist… Tähän aiheeseen liittyen OKM on asettanut Avoin tiede ja tutkimus ATT hankkeen avoimuuden politiikat- työryhmän jossa suunnitellaan ohjeistusta avoimeen julkaisemiseen. Sen verran asiasta on käyty keskustelua, että yliopisto-kohtaisia julkaisupankkeja ei todennäköisesti tule. Tässä vaiheessa hakemuksessa voi viitata olemassa olevaan työryhmään joka tulee ohjeistamaan yliopistoja ja kirjastoja kun työryhmän työ tulee päätökseen. Lisäksi voi kertoa noudattavansa Avointiede-käsikirjan ohjeita (joka tulee löytymään sivustolta http://avointiede.fi) ja pyrkimyksestä julkaista ja saattaa julkaisunsa tiedeyhteisölle mahdollisimman laajasti esim. käyttämällä open access-lehtiä. Huomioikaa, että akatemialta voi anoa rahoitusta open access-julkaisemista varten. Lisäksi julkaisuja voidaan tuoda avoimiksi esim. ResearchGate:n kautta tai miksei myös kotisivujen avulla. Tämmöiset olisi neuvot kunnes valtakunnallinen ohjeistus on saatu valmiiksi. It is very likely that there will be no university-specific repositories. At this point you can refer to the working group which is expected to give guidelines to universities and libraries later on. You can also point out that you will be following the guidelines of the Openscience-handbook, which will be available at http://openscience.fi/ and that you will seek to publish your work to a broad scientific community for example by using open access-journals. Keep in mind that you can seek funding from AoF for open access-publication fees. You can also make publications open to others through ResearchGate and through your own research website. This would be the advice until we get national guidelines. University of Oulu Institute of Health Sciences Organised by the Computational Medicine Research Team http://computationalmedicine.fi Thursday September 25 14:00 – 15:30 Seminar room F101 Prof Juan-Pablo Casas UCL & LSHTM, London, UK Prof Casas will present interesting new results & ideas in the field of metabolic phenotyping, genetics & causality analyses via Mendelian randomisation – the title of his talk is Use of biomarkers in drug-development. Professor Juan Pablo-Casas qualified in Medicine in 1999 and continued to train in cardiovascular science. In the UK, he worked initially as a Clinical Research Fellow in the Centre for Clinical Pharmacology at UCL and joined the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSTHM) in April 2005. Since April 2009 he split his time between the LSTHM and the University College London (UCL). At LSTHM, he works as co-director of the British Women's Heart & Health Study and Deputy Co-ordinator editor of the Cochrane Heart Group. At UCL, he works as a Reader in Genetic Epidemiology at the Institute of Cardiovascular Science. His major interest is in disease aetiology in non-communicable disease with focus on cardiovascular disease and pre-eclampsia. Prof Casas is a key investigator in the UCLEB Consortium (http://computationalmedicine.fi/collaboration#UCLEB). Prof Casas has recently published papers, for example, in BMJ, Nat Commun, JAMA Psychiatry, Am J Hum Genet, Eur Heart J, Hum Mol Genet, Nat Genet, JACC, PLoS Med, Int J Epidemiol, Circ Cardiovasc Genet, Lancet & JAMA.
