Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to announce that Professor Ian Mills, the esteemed John Black Professor of Prostate Cancer and Deputy Head of the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences at the University of Oxford, will be delivering a lecture at our University this afternoon at 3.15pm in F202. Professor Mills is renowned for his groundbreaking research into the biological mechanisms driving prostate cancer progression and treatment resistance.

With a distinguished academic journey that includes a Master of Biochemistry from Oxford University and a PhD in Molecular Physiology from the University of Liverpool, Professor Mills has held pivotal research and leadership roles at institutions such as the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, the University of Cambridge, the University of Oslo, and Queen’s University Belfast. His extensive work has significantly advanced our understanding of prostate cancer biology, particularly in areas like metabolic pathways, stress response signaling, and the tumor microenvironment. Notably, his research has led to the identification of biomarkers now being developed in collaboration with industry partners.

Currently leading the Oxford Prostate Cancer Biology Group, Professor Mills focuses on metabolic pathways, spatial clonal biology, and developing multiplexed models to better understand prostate cancer lethality. His collaborative efforts span multiple disciplines and have been instrumental in refining pre-clinical models and targeting key pathways in prostate cancer research.

We would love to invite all faculty, researchers, and students with an interest in oncology, molecular biology, and translational research to attend this insightful lecture. Professor Mills's extensive expertise and innovative approach promise to provide valuable perspectives on the challenges and advancements in prostate cancer research.

We look forward to your participation in what promises to be an enlightening and engaging afternoon session.

Best regards,

Gonghong & Aki
