Open fixed-term postdoctoral positions are available at the Medical Research Center Ouluhttps://www.oulu.fi/mrc/ for 2020. The duration of the positions vary between 3-6 months, up to a maximum cumulative total of 2 person years. The starting date will be at the earliest in February 2020. The applications will be evaluated by an external evaluation panel based on the qualifications of the applicant. The results of the call will be announced at the earliest in January 2020.
Required qualifications and assessment The successful candidate must hold a PhD degree in the field of Medicine, Dentistry, Biomedicine, Health Sciences or Medical Technology or other related field. Priority will be given to applicants who are members of MRC Oulu research group. Docents or docent-level applicants and applicants receiving funding from another Focus Institute (i.e. Biocenter Oulu, Infotech, Thule and Eudaimonia) of the University of Oulu will not be considered.
Fluency in both written and spoken English, as well as good communication and teamwork skills are required. Demonstrated experience in writing scientific publications, potential in acquiring supplementary funding and teaching experience will be taken as merits. When assessing the applicant's qualifications, issues to be considered will include scientific publications, supervision experience, activity in the scientific community and familiarity with the research field.
Salary The successful candidate will be employed at the University of Oulu. The salary will be based on level 5 of the demand level chart for university-level teaching and research staff of Finnish universities. In addition, a salary component based on personal work performance will be paid (maximum of 50 % of the job-specific component).
