The NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme has opened a call of proposals. Deadline is 5th of January 2025. The call is meant for consortium applications and regarding the medical research field, the focus of SPS key priorities is on the chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) management, especially on medical countermeasures against CBRN Agents.

It's time to share your proposals with us!

 

The 2025/1 call for proposals is now available on the SPS website!

Do you have a brilliant idea and a great team to implement it? Then consider submitting your proposal to the SPS Programme!

  1. Follow this link to read the call for proposals.
  2. Follow this link to consult the list of Key Priorities for the SPS Programme (revised in 2024).
  3. Consult this page of the SPS website to learn how to develop an application and manage an activity. The SPS Handbooks and required documentation include a lot of useful information to develop a successful proposal. On this page you will also find samples of the application forms for each of the SPS grant mechanisms.
  4. Create your user account on the SPS grant platform and start an application for the grant mechanism most interesting for you. Take your time to familiarise yourself with the new forms and the useful guidance they provide.

What has SPS been up to?

 

 

Rerouting internet to space in case of disruption to critical infrastructure

 

31 July marked the launch of the SPS project "HEIST". This new initiative aims to make the internet less vulnerable to disruption by rerouting the flow of information into space in the event that undersea cables are attacked or accidentally severed.

Project SAPIENCE takes off

 

On 29 and 30 August, four teams from universities in the Netherlands, United Kingdom, United States, and Austria took part in the SAPIENCE autonomous drone competition, supported by the SPS Programme.

Scientists explore weather impacts on satellite launches

 

The SPS project “Dynamics above the Epicentre of Climate Change (DECC)” is examining the challenges posed by unidentified weather patterns at high altitudes for satellite launches, re-entry procedures, and new hypersonic systems.
