Dear all,
we will have a BCO seminar tomorrow
on Tuesday October 30, at 15.15. The speaker is Professor Jeffrey A. Whitsett from the Department of Pediatrics, University of Cincinnati, where professor Whitsett is the Co-Director of Perinatal Institute and Chief of the Section of Neonatology,
Perinatal and Pulmonary Biology. Professor Whittsett was recently awarded the prestigious Arvo Ylppö -medal.
The title of his presentation is “Molecular Mechanisms Controlling Formation and Function of the Airway Epithelium”.
Professor Whitsett´s interests:
- elucidation of transcriptional control of lung epithelial cell gene expression
- structure function of surfactant protein gene transfer to the airway epithelium for therapy of cystic fibrosis and other lung disease
- genes involved in innate host defense in the lung
- the molecular cell biology of lung morphogenesis and differentiation
