Become an Expert Evaluator of EU research projects
The European Commission and other EU bodies needs an expert advice outside of the house for sound decision- and policymaking. The European Research Executive Agency (REA) https://rea.ec.europa.eu/working-rea/work-expert_en#ecl-inpage-952 has launched a call for new expert evaluatorshttps://ec.europa.eu/info/funding-tenders/opportunities/docs/2021-2027/experts/call-for-expression-of-interest_en.pdf who will help review proposals submitted to Horizon Europe and other EU programmes.
Interested candidates need to first register in the European Commission's expert databasehttps://ec.europa.eu/info/funding-tenders/opportunities/portal/screen/work-as-an-expert, that is used for the entire Horizon Europe Programme. From this database, commission select candidates with the most suitable profile for the following activities:
* Evaluating project proposals applying for EU funding. * Monitoring the implementation of funded projects.
The European Commission is looking for experts with extensive experience in at least one of the many areas such as:
* Food and agriculture * Soil * Environment and bio-economy * Civil security * Engineering, IT and technologies * Culture and Creativity * Democracy and society * Physics * Medicine * Open Science * Expertise with integrating gender aspects into R&I
Selected experts are contracted for short-term assignments lasting from two days up to two weeks and the work will mostly be conducted remotely, in some cases evaluators will be invited in Brussels. Evaluators are eligible for allowance and reimbursement of expenses. Becoming an expert evaluator in Horizon Europe is the best way to get to know the evaluation process in the new programme and become successful as an applicant faster. Getting to know how the evaluation process works and what the experts are looking for in an excellent proposal will allow you to improve your own applications in the future.
