Next Thursday, October 23, there will be a seminar at 15.15-16 in F202 Pharmacology by Professor Jian Ye, School of Biomedical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China.

The title of the seminar is “Single-molecule Raman detection of metabolites and toxins”.

Prof. Ye's Biography

Jian Ye received his B.E. degree in 2000 and M.S. degree in 2003 from Zhejiang University and Ph.D. degree in 2010 from KU Leuven (Belgium). In 2003-2005, he was at Intel Products (Shanghai) Ltd. as a material engineer. In 2010-2013, he was a senior researcher and Postdoctoral Fellow in imec vzw (Belgium) supported by Research Foundation of Flanders (FWO). In 2011, Dr. Ye was with Prof. Naomi Halas at Rice University as a visiting scholar. He joined Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) in 2013 and was promoted as a full professor in 2018. Since 2020, he has been the vice dean of the School of Biomedical Engineering in SJTU. Dr. Ye has received a number of awards including Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad (2009), Outstanding Youth Fund from Chinese National Natural Science Foundation (2016) and Journal of Materials Chemistry B 2020 Emerging Investigators.
