Dear all,

FARIA (Finnish-American Research and Innovation Accelerator) and the University of Helsinki’s Research Funding Services are organizing a workshop in cooperation with NCURA (National Council of University Research Administrators) on U.S. funding opportunities, budget considerations, legal aspects and award management. In addition, U.S.-Finland collaboration frameworks and U.S. funding in Finland will be discussed. Guest speakers will include research management experts, funding organizations and high-level public administration representatives both from the United States and Europe. The US research funding landscape is a very complex field and this workshop is a rare opportunity to acquire training and knowledge on US funding by experts. The workshop is targeted, in addition to admin people, at PI’s who are planning on applying for U.S. funding within the next two years.

This is a three-day workshop but it is possible to take part for one, or more, days. The University’s Research and Project services cover the workshop participation fees but the budget for travels needs to come from the faculty.

The University of Oulu has a few spots available for potential PI’s for the workshop. If you are interested, please inform Jani Haapakoski (jani.haapakoski@oulu.fi) before registering. The places for the training are given on first come first served principle so please act fast! Otherwise, the expression of interest will end 28th of August.

Best wishes,

Jani
