Stig Henning Mikael Nyström (14 July 1924 Helsinki – 15 November 2018 Helsinki) was the first full professor of neurosurgery in Finland. Nyström specialized in neurosurgery in Helsinki in 1962 and continued his studies at Harvard University from 1963 to 1965. He held the neurosurgery professorship at the University of Oulu from 1976 to 1989. His research focused on various topics, including brain tumors and epilepsy surgery. Additionally, he was a distinguished painter and held around 40 art exhibitions.
