Järjestämme yhteistyössä Ylen ja tiedekeskus Tietomaan kanssa KYLMÄ-dokumentin ensiesityksen Oulussa torstaina 1. joulukuuta.
Dokumenttielokuvassa seurataan jääuimari Elina Mäkisen valmistautumista Polar Ice Mile -uintimatkaan Norjan Huippuvuorten arktisissa olosuhteissa. Uintitreenien lisäksi kylmänkeston salaisuutta selvitetään huippututkijoiden
avulla ja tieteen keinoin. Miten kylmäaltistus vaikuttaa suorituskykyyn ja kuinka kauan hypotermian syntymisessä kestää?

Tiina Ikäheimo on ollut tiiviisti mukana dokumentin teossa. Elokuvan kesto on 52 minuuttia. Esityksen jälkeen pidettävässä keskustelussa yleisöllä on mahdollisuus tavata dokumentin tekijöitä ja kylmätutkijoita
ja esittää heille kysymyksiä.

Welcome to the premiere of the documentary KYLMÄ on Thursday 1.12. at 17.30!
In cooperation with Yle and Science Centre Tietomaa, we are organising the premiere of the documentary KYLMÄ (Cold) in Oulu on Thursday 1 December. The Finnish language
documentary follows the preparation of ice swimmer Elina Mäkinen for her Polar Ice Mile swim in the Arctic conditions of the Norwegian Svalbard. In addition to the swim training, the mystery of cold resistance is explored with the help of top scientists and
science. How does cold exposure affect performance and how long does it take for hypothermia to develop?
Our researcher, docent
Tiina Ikäheimo, has been closely involved in the making-process of the documentary. The film is 52 minutes long and it’s in Finnish (no subtitling in English). In a discussion after the movie,
the audience will have the opportunity to meet the authors of the documentary and the cold scientists and ask them questions.
