The Academy of Finland has decided the dates of the upcoming winter 2024 call. The call opens on 15 November 2023 and closes on 17 January 2024. The funding decisions will be made by June 2024.

Applications are invited for Academy Project funding, Academy Research Fellowships, Clinical Researcher funding and the Academy Programme for Sport Science. The calls for applications for mobility funding based on international agreements will open in autumn according to the usual schedule.

The titles and descriptions of the review panels will be published in September 2023 at the latest. The call text, including the application guidelines and the details on the review criteria and the review procedure, will be published in late October 2023.

526 responses to survey on panel structure

On 2 May 2023, the Academy announced a draft panel structure with descriptions of the individual review panels for the winter call. Stakeholders were invited to have their say on the structure. The Academy received 526 responses by the deadline of 23 May. The Academy will now analyse the results. Next, the Academy’s research councils will discuss the panel structure and the results of the survey in a joint workshop in early June. The final set of panels to be used in the 2024 winter call will be published in August–September.
