On June 4th to 6th Linnanmaa campus will transform into a lively hub for all those interested in interdisciplinary research and teaching as Oulu will host the 47th Association for Interdisciplinary Studies conference. The international community of interdisciplinary researchers, teachers, students and administrators from all over the world gathers for three days in Oulu to discuss the conference’s theme Shaping the Future in the Era of Polycrisis.

This is a unique opportunity for Oulu-based researchers, teachers and students to participate in the most topical interdisciplinary discussions of our time. The conference’s sessions convene under the themes 

The open sessions in each theme welcome contributions or you can submit an independent abstract! Submit an abstract to the conference by February 14, 23:59 (UTC+2). In each theme there are also closed sessions that do not accept contributions in the Abstract Call but welcome participation during the conference.

If you’d like to discuss interdisciplinarity in enthusiastic company, if the themes of the conference interest you, or if you’d just like to spend the beginning of June in great company, register to the conference by May 1.

Early-bird registration ends March 31. The reduced registration fee applies for the staff members of the University of Oulu and Oamk for the whole registration period (NOTE: on the conference website, there is a separate staff members' registration form where information for internal invoicing is gathered). Students (incl. doctoral researchers) also have a reduced registration fee that applies for the whole registration period.
