Dear colleagues,

This is a reminder for today's cross-faculty educational and research workshop entitled: "Navigating the Complex Interplay between Osteoarthritis, Obesity, and Cardiovascular Health” on Tuesday 13 August. We are honoured to welcome two distinguished scientists from Duke University, Durham, North Carolina to the University of Oulu.

Virginia Byers Kraus, MD, PhD, Mary Bernheim Distinguished Professor of Medicine, Duke University, Durham, NC will present: "Osteoarthritis – a Case for “One Medicine” Between Humans and Animals, (a Rheumatologist’s perspective)”.

William Erle Kraus, MD, Richard and Pat Johnson University Distinguished Professor, Duke University, Durham, NC will present "The Effects of Amount and Intensity of Aerobic Exercise on Cardiometabolic Health”.

LOCATION: Room H1091, DENTOPOLIS, Kontinkangas Campus, University of Oulu

The seminars from the distinguished speakers will be preceded by a series of short presentations by local faculty Professor Simo Saarakkala and Dr. Mikko Finnilä starting at 11:00 am and ending at 12:30 pm in the same location. This part of the program is dedicated to doctoral researchers working on this topic.

We are also planning to have a surprise guest speaker joining us from the United States at 4 pm local time
