three postdoctoral (3-year) positions are announced open in the Profi6 theme “6G-Solutions and Responsible Innovations for Future Sustainable Society (6G-FSS)”.
Motivated and talented scientists across disciplines are invited to bring their expertise to the 6G-FSS theme.

6G-FSS in short:
6G-FSS leverages the technical expertise of the
6G Flagship,
Digital health, and
Sustainable energy systems to do world-class interdisciplinary research for a
data-driven, hyperconnected future society with digitalized healthcare and
energy-thrifty power systems.
Four faculties have joined forces in 6G-FSS: Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Technology, and Oulu Business School.
6G-FSS research theme is supported by the Academy of Finland Profi6 funding (2021-2026), strengthening the strategy of the University of Oulu.
There are five subthemes which together form 6G-FSS:
6G-FSS1: Citizen-centered health data solutions
6G-FSS2: Ubiquitous digital care pathways and service models in secure and intelligent environments
6G-FSS3: Future AI-tailored wireless hospital
6G-FSS4: Sustainable energy systems empowering users with digital services
6G-FSS5: Energy efficiency of digitally enabled user-centric systems
The open postdoctoral positions can be filled in any of these five themes, depending on the interests and background of the applicants.
A successful applicant can thus have a background in a wide range of scientific disciplines: medical, technical, business, natural sciences, or related field.
As default, a successful applicant is expected to have a vision, ambition, and passion for research.
