Utilization of patent databases in research

Did you know that up 80 % of all technical information can be found only from patent publications? If you read only scientific articles you cannot get the full picture from current knowledge.

Patents are not only important when making inventions. Utilize their information also when you plan a new research project.

Learn how to search patent databases and how to find most important information from patent publication. Course contains lectures but main focus is in practical exercises.

Innovation Services, University Library and UNIOGS are arranging a one day course at 8th May 2014 in Linnanmaa campus. The course will be arranged in English (in autumn similar course in Finnish, date will be informed later).

The course is for PhD students and senior researchers. Registration to WebOodi (https://weboodi.oulu.fi/oodi/, course code 920013J) at latest 30th April 2014.
