UniOulu Science Day is our university community's biggest interdisciplinary
science event of the year.
Join us on Wednesday 17 April 2024 for a broad range of interesting workshops, thought-provoking and inspiring speeches and discussions and take advantage of this opportunity to meet and build new connections with your colleagues from different disciplines.
UniOulu Science Day is organised by the Centres for Multidisciplinary Research and the profiling themes of the University of Oulu, this year together with the
Finnish Academy of Science and Letters.
The event is free for all researchers of the University of Oulu as well as for the members of the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters. The event is held at Linnanmaa campus, and the language of the event is English.
The day will start with speeches by
Taina Pihlajaniemi, our Vice Rector for Research, Tuula Linna, the President of the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters and
Kirsi Cheas, a postdoctoral researcher from the University of Vaasa, founder of Finterdis (Finnish Interdisciplinary Society) and a board member of the AIS (Association for Interdisciplinary Studies). We offer 12 interesting workshops, including for
example:
The day will finish with a speech by
Arto Maaninen, our Vice Rector for Cooperation, a panel discussion on the topic
Interdisciplinary Futures: Power of Collaboration and a poster session. The panelists are
Professor Johannes Kettunen, Associate Professor Anna Krzywoszynska, University Lecturer Antonio
Calò, Postdoctoral Researcher Kirsi Cheas and
Doctoral Researcher Clément Massé.
