Target group: The course is open for all doctoral candidates and master's degree students, especially in the fields
of Natural Sciences, Engineering, Technology, Biosciences and Medical Physics. The contents of the course is relevant for national and international researchers from different fields, who can follow the lectures.
Contents: Special focus is addressed to combining output from different data analyzing and characterization methods,
special examples of used data analyzing methods in applications in various fields. The international and national expert lecturers will give the keynote presentations.
Credits: 3 cr
Course description
The students will learn how to take full advantage of the computational methods available to process, enhance and analyse the imaging and characterisation data they have. Use of computer
vision and computer learning algorithms for image processing and analysis. First principles calculations as a tool for interpreting characterisation data. Principal component analysis for spectroscopic and multimodal data.
The course consists of lectures, discussions, tutorials and reflective learning diary.
