Due to the popularity of the ERC Proposal Reading Days on 4th and 11th September, we are organizing the third Proposal Reading Day with the same site (Hakaniemenkatu 2, Helsinki) on Wednesday 27.9.2023 for researchers planning an application to the European Research Council (ERC). Again, we will have two 3-hour sessions: one at 9-12 and another at 13-16. As previously, we gave those on the waiting list for the first two events an early chance to sign up for this third event; they were informed about the second Reading Day already two days ago. Nevertheless, at least 40 places out of 60 are still available.
Please disseminate information about the third Reading Day on Wednesday 27 September. The registration is open until 15th September and the registration link is ERC Proposal Reading Day (lyyti.fi)https://www.lyyti.fi/reg/ERC_Proposal_Reading_Day_279_8216.
Please note that due to the limited number of participants one is supposed to attend only one 3-hour session, and only in one of the three Reading Days in September.
Below you can find some more details about the event.
Best wishes,
Anna & Annika
Information on the Reading Day:
On the Reading Day applicants will get the opportunity to read successful ERC grant proposals in order to see how a proposal might be structured. About 30 ERC-grantees from Finnish Host Institutions have given their kind consent to make their proposal available for the reading day.
* This is an on-site event, organized at the Research Council of Finland (former: Academy of Finland) premises, Hakaniemenkatu 2, Helsinki. * There will be two separate sessions, at 9-12 and 13-16, both accommodating 30 persons. One can register only to one of these. * The ERC Proposal Reading Day will be open only for researchers from Finnish Host Institutions. If there are vacant places available after the registration deadline, we will inform the Research Services about their possibility to attend. * The proposals are available as paper copies on the Proposal Reading Day. One can preselect up to two proposals. This is done in the registration form. Subject to availability, it will be possible to read copies of other applications during the Reading Day. * Attendance only by registration which is binding. If one signs up, but cannot attend after all, one is requested to deregister before the registration deadline. * The participants must sign Declaration of Secrecy (attached). * Photocopying or taking photos of the applications is not allowed. * Applications cannot be taken out of the reading room. * This is a quiet individual reading session. It does not include tutorials about the ERC. To participate one should be familiar with the ERC grant schemes, as well as the conditions for participation listed here.
