FI: Historioitsijat Suomalaisessa tiedeakatemiassa ovat järjestäneet Itsenäisen Suomen tieteenhistoria -hankkeen tiimoilta laajan muistitietokeräyksen, joka on avoin kaikille parhaillaan aktiivisille ja aiemmin vaikuttaneille tieteentekijöille. "Suomalainen tiede" kattaa tässä yhteydessä kaiken Suomessa tehdyn tieteen. Keräämme suomalaisten ja Suomessa vaikuttaneiden tieteenharjoittajien ja tutkijoiden kokemuksia ja muistitietoa. Keruu on osa laajempaa Itsenäisen Suomen tieteen historia -hanketta. Sen avulla kootaan tietoa siitä, miten Suomessa harjoitetun tieteen kehitys eri oppialoilla on tapahtunut. Näkökulma oppialoihin perustuu vastaajien itsensä laatimiin kuvauksiin aihepiiristä, jonka asiantuntijoita he ovat. "Kirjoittamalla kertominen" on erinomainen keino hankkia tietoa ilmiöstä, jonka kehitykseen ja murroksiin kirjoittajat itse ovat osallistuneet. Tieteenharjoittajien kokemukset ovat arvokas lähde tutkittaessa tieteen kehitystä.
Keruun järjestävät Suomalaisen Kirjallisuuden Seura (SKS) ja Svenska litteratursällskapet i Finland (SLS) yhdessä Suomen Tiedeseuran, Suomalaisen Tiedeakatemian, Tieteellisten Seurain Valtuuskunnan, Kansallisarkiston ja Suomen Historiallisen Seuran kanssa.

The Finnish Literature Society (SKS) and the Society of Swedish Literature in Finland (SLS) are gathering personal narratives and recollections by scientists and researchers that are or have been active in Finland. The collection is part of a larger project on the history of science in Finland, organised in collaboration with the Finnish Society of Sciences and Letters, the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters, the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies, the National Archives of Finland, and the Finnish Historical Society. The purpose of the oral historical element of this project is to collect information about the development of practices across scientific disciplines in Finland.
