Dear all,
Today Kontinkangas Campus seminarshttps://www.oulu.fi/uniogs/dp/hbsdp/guest-seminars presents:
May 28th (Tuesday), 13.00-14.00 in F202, Niels Behrendt from University of Copenhagen will give a presentation: "The endocytic collagen receptor uPARAP/Endo180: Physiological and pathological roles and potential as a tumor target"
Behrendt group's major interest is the interplay between cells and their microenvironment in health and disease. They work to understand the interactions between cells and the extracellular matrix and to utilize this understanding to create novel therapeutic options, particularly in cancer treatment. Their particular focus is receptors and proteolytic enzymes that govern the homeostasis and degradation of collagens. They have identified a specific endocytic collagen receptor, Endo180/uPARAP, with important functions in fibrosis, immunity, lymphangiogenesis and cancer invasion.
