Subject: [Ltkhkunta] 6th WORKSHOP on Visualisation of Cells and Tissues by Light Microscopic Techniques and Tomographic Methods, June 12-14, Oulu

Hi everyone,

Biocenter Oulu Doctoral Programme (BCO-DP) and Biocenter Oulu Tissue Imaging Center are organizing a workshop on Visualisation of Cells and Tissues by Light Microscopic Techniques and Tomographic Methods. The course will present lectures to Ph.D. students and all scientists interested in the latest advanced microscopic and mesoscopic imaging methods. Demonstrations are limited to Ph.D. students and researchers whose projects benefit the topics carried out during the course.

Teachers of the course are pioneering experts in the field. Jan Huisken (Max Planck Institute, Dresden, Germany) has been developing SPIM technique and used it very successfully for imaging thick biological specimens, Bettina Weigelin (Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands) has developed methods for tumor intravital- and 3D organotypic imaging, Ulf Ahlgren (University of Umeå, Sweden) is an expert in optical projection tomography methods for developmental biology applications and Pasi Kankaanpää (University of Turku, Finland) is one of the creators of a novel open-source image processing and analysis software BioImageXD.

Please find the detailed programme and more information from below and via this link: http://www.oulu.fi/sites/default/files/content/Advanced_microscopy_course_June_2013.pdf .

Kind Regards,

Ritva
