Dear All,
please see the email below regarding the sample collection for mycoplasma test.
Alhaalla tietoa mykoplasmatestiä varten kerättävästä mediumista. Parhain tulos saadaan kun näyte (0.5-1ml) kerätään 24 tuntia mediumin vaihdon jälkeen.
terveisin,
Reetta
Dear Reetta,
My name is Oren and I'm with Technical Support at Biological Industries.
Ideally the supernatant should be collected 24 hours after changing the medium. If impossible, at least overnight. If the samples are collected after 48-72 hours of culture (without medium changes) you might get results that look like a "smear", because of DNA fragments from dead cells and debris.
Best regards,
Oren

Subject: EZ-PCR mycoplasma test kit
Hello,
we are using the EZ-PCR mycoplasma test kit at our clinical research center and I would like to know the optimal conditions for collecting the sample for the test. Is there a certain time period that the media should have been in cell culture before collecting?
Thank you already in advance for the help.
Best regards,
