We are now launching an internal call for Master’s thesis proposals for the International Master’s programme Epidemiology and Biomedical Data Science (EBDS) 2023-2025.

As part of their study the EBDS students must carry on a 6 to 9 months master’s thesis to gain further experience in epidemiology and(/or) biomedical data science. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Important: The learning outcome of the thesis is not to write a publication but to learn and practice research methods in epidemiology and data science as well as to build skill set to design and independently conduct a research project. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are very proud of our students. Through this call we would like to continue expanding and support excellent research-based training in all relevant research health related field our faculties has to offer. We also wish to enlarge the horizons for the students, raising awareness of the diversity of research done at the University of Oulu.

I am sharing with you a survey to collect your interest and availability to supervise a master’s student for a 6-9 month period between September 2024 and April/May 2025.

Who can supervise: The principal supervisor should hold a doctoral degree and be affiliated to the University of Oulu [more instruction can be found in the attached documents]

The survey includes 5 items including:

* Contact information * Project Title * Short project description * Description of the research team * Possible name of a co-supervisor
