Dear all, next Thursday, April 4 we will have a Kontinkangas Research Seminar in F202, 15.15-. Our guest speaker is Dr. Francesco De Angelis, Plasmon Nanotechnology, Italian Institute of Technology, Genova, Italy . The title of his presentation is "Hybrid interfaces between nanosensors and living cells". "The main goal of research activity is to exploit advanced nanofabrication techniques for controlling the properties and the response of materials at the nanoscales. Particularly, we cover all of the aspects of the research spanning form the design to the fabrication, characterization and practical applications of nanodevices. The majority of the activity concerns the applications of photonic and plasmonic devices to biology and bio-sensing." More about his research https://plasna.iit.it/ and https://www.iit.it/our-research
Note below the Kontinkangas Research Seminars still to come. Special event on May 16 with Professor William Kaelin Jr, 2019 Nobel Prize recipient in Physiology or Medicine and Professor Seppo Ylä-Herttuala, internationally best-known Finnish researcher of gene therapy. NOTE! registration for coffee by May 8 https://link.webropolsurveys.com/S/350B1788AE1C60BF
Note also the programme for the Research Infrastructure Days, on two consecutive mornings, April 9-10.
Welcome everybody! No registration required. Coffee is served during networking session 20 min before the presentation time. Field specific credits can be earned according to UniOGS recommendationshttps://www.oulu.fi/en/research/graduate-school/thesis-requirements-and-studies/study-requirements#accordion-control-recommendations-of-credits-for-different-activities- (attendance at scientific seminars for 10 hours: 0,5ECTS) If you would like to have separate discussions with the speaker, please contact Teija.luoto@oulu.fimailto:Teija.luoto@oulu.fi who will set up the meeting time. If you have suggestions for additional speakers, let me know! Organized by Biocenter Oulu and Health and Biosciences Doctoral Programme and partly together with Fibrobesity Research Programme.
