Dear Colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to invite You all to participate in the Grand Opening Seminar on "Fibrosis Diseasome" at the Campus of Kontinkangas in October 15, 2019. "Fibrosis Diseasome" is a profiling theme (Profi-3) of the University of Oulu strategic research focus area "Molecular and environmental basis for lifelong health" ( https://www.oulu.fi/university/research ). This seminar including a poster session will be organized jointly by the Faculties of Medicine (FMED), Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine (FBMM), and Humanities (FHUM), Biocenter Oulu (BCO), Medical Research Center (MRC) Oulu and the Health and Biosciences Doctoral Programme, University of Oulu Graduate School.

The scientific fields covered in this "Fibrosis Diseasome" seminar are preclinical and clinical research on the extracellular matrix, and translational research on population and patient cohorts. The invited speakers will include four tenure track professors appointed to the Fibrosis Diseasome profiling theme, and national and international world-class researchers who have exceptional accomplishments and competences in the field of fibrosis and associated diseases.

As a part of this seminar we will also celebrate over 50 years of extracellular matrix research at the University of Oulu by collecting photos on fibrosis related research to prepare a photo gallery for the gala dinner (photos on the current and previous research group members, equipment, research laboratories etc.).
