We have the following internal call open targeted to the Faculties of Medicine, Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine, Humanities, and Education until May 16:
* Short-term postdoctoral positions in the Profiling Theme FIBROBESITYhttps://rekry.saima.fi/certiahome/open_job_view.html?did=5600&lang=fi&id=000011234&jc=4
This call is to support postdocs for a short period of 1-6 moths during 2021 with an option to:
1. perform an active research period under FIBROBESITY in your already ongoing project, or 2. prepare a research plan to apply for funding for a new FIBROBESITY research initiative, or 3. prepare a publication relating to FIBROBESITY, or 4. develop new or already existing national or international collaborations under FIBROBESITY. A successful applicant is expected to have competence and planned or already ongoing research in one or more of the following areas linked to obesity and obesity-related fibrosis:
1. Epidemiology or genetics 2. Clinical studies 3. Molecular and cellular mechanisms 4. Model organisms and disease modelling for future therapies 5. Behavioral and societal perspectives

FIBROBESITY in a nutshell:
* Fibrobesity - Preventing Fibrosis Related to Obesity * Targets the triad of obesity, cellular deprivation of oxygen and fibrosis
* One of the three new research themes supported by the Academy of Finland PROFI6 funding (2021-2026) * Continuation of the University of Oulu's PROFI3 Fibrosis Diseasome under the profile field "FibroHealth - Combatting Fibrosis in Chronic Diseases"
