Dear researchers!
I just checked and noticed, that quite many of you still don't have a researcher profile under the university website. Also, many of you have it only in English or in Finnish, which restricts the visibility of the profile and makes it difficult to be found.
If you have created for example an English-language profile only, you can't get it displayed on our Finnish-language website unless you make a translation. You can get it displayed on the Finnish-language site simply by selecting in the profile editing mode "Käännä/Translate" and "Lisää käännös/Add translation" at the Finnish-language version, and then saving the new profile that opens up.
A researcher profile serves as a showcase of your expertise. In your profile, you can present your competence and interests and bring up, for example, your projects and publications. A researcher profile makes your expertise and field of study known to other members of the academia and to those who are looking for new partners or possibilities for co-operation. It also makes you visible for students, general public and media.
I encourage all researchers, especially group leaders and post-docs to ensure that they have an updated profile under both language websites:
Tutkijat fokusalueittain suomeksi, elinikäinen terveyshttps://www.oulu.fi/yliopisto/tutkijat-fokusalueittain#elinikainen-terveys
Researchers by focus areas in English, lifelong healthhttps://www.oulu.fi/university/researchers-by-focus-areas#lifelong-health
Making a profile is not difficult. Please follow the instructions in Patio: https://patio.oulu.fi/en/services-and-instructions/communications-and-market...
