Hyvät Oulun yliopiston lääketieteellisen tiedekunnan opettajat ja opiskelijat (below in English),

Lääketieteellisen tiedekunnan tiloissa tapahtuvissa opetustilanteissa noudatetaan Oulun yliopiston ohjeita maskien käytöstä. Maskeja tai muuta tilanteeseen tarkoituksenmukaista suojainta suositellaan käytettäväksi lähiopetuksessa, jos 1-2 metrin turvavälejä ei ole mahdollista ylläpitää. OYSissa tapahtuvassa opetuksessa noudatetaan OYSin turvallisuusohjeita. OYSin henkilökunnan ohjeita sovelletaan myös opetustilanteisiin. Tällä hetkellä kirurgista suu-nenäsuojainta käytetään potilaan lähihoidossa (<2m) kaikkien potilaiden kohdalla Oulun seudun yhteispäivystyksessä, ja muissa yksiköissä tavanomaisten ja pisaravarotoimien mukaisesti eli esimerkiksi, kun on vaara roiskeista tai hoidetaan hengitystieinfektiota. Covid-19 testinegatiivinen, lievästi oireileva henkilökuntaan kuuluva henkilö käyttää maskia.

Opiskelijat eivät pääsääntöisesti käytä maskeja OYSissa tapahtuvissa opetustilanteissa ja opiskelijoiden tulee olla lähiopetukseen osallistuessaan infektioiden osalta terveitä ja oireettomia. Suojainten käytöstä lähiopetuksissa voi ilmetä opetustilannekohtaisia poikkeuksia, joista opettaja tiedottaa opiskelijoita etukäteen. OYSissa tapahtuvassa opetuksessa mahdollisesti tarvittavat maskit antaa OYS. Opiskelijoiden valkoisten takkien käyttö tapahtuu entisten ohjeiden mukaan eikä ylimääräisiä suojatakkeja tarvita.

Lääketieteellisen tiedekunnan opiskelijat eivät osallistu opetuksen puitteissa Covid-19 epäilyjen tai sairastuneiden hoitoon.

Ohjeet perustuvat tämänhetkisiin yliopiston ja sairaalan ohjeisiin, ja ne saattavat muuttua jatkossa, jolloin annetaan uusi tiedote.

Dear teachers and students of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Oulu,

In lessons and small group teaching organized in premises of the Faculty of Medicine instructions of the University of Oulu concerning use of nose and mouth masks must be followed. In contact teaching, when it is not possible to keep safe distance (1-2 meters) use of masks or other appropriate protection is recommended. In teaching, organized in the Oulu University Hospital safety instructions of the university hospital must be followed. Instructions for the staff of the university hospital will also be applied in lessons. Currently, the staff of the Oulu region emergency unit is using surgical nose and mouth masks in close contact with all patients (< 2 m). In other units of the university hospital, the staff is using the masks following normal precaution measures including measures against droplet infection, for example, in cases when there is a risk of droplets or when treating a patient with respiratory infection. Member of the staff with mild symptoms, but with negative Covid-19 test result must use the mask.

In general, the students will not use masks in teaching related occasions organized in the university hospital´s premises. When participating in contact/small group teaching the students must not have any infections or symptoms of infections. In individual cases of contact teaching, there might be exceptions to the general mask instructions. In these cases, the teacher will inform the students about the exceptions beforehand. If in the contact teaching in the university hospital there is a need for masks, they will be provided by the university hospital. The students may use white coats in accordance with earlier instructions and no extra protective coats are needed.

In teaching, students of the medical faculty will not participate in treatment of the patients infected with Covid-19 or patients with suspected Covid-19 infection.

This information is based on the current instructions of the university and university hospital and it will be updated, when necessary.
