Biocenter invites expressions of interest for a part-time, two-year foresight role to support the strategic development of health research at the University of Oulu. This is an internal call and selected person must be employed by the University of Oulu.

Funding for the positions is available up to €50,000 per year (including side costs).

The role requires broad experience in research leadership and is primarily aimed at principal investigators. However, applicants with otherwise demonstrated, relevant experience may also be considered under special circumstances.

The foresight work will be conducted using a platform provided by Futures Platform, a consultancy specializing in foresight processes. The company will support the creation of an initial strategic outlook, which will then be shared for crowdsourcing and community engagement.

The aims of the foresight effort include:

* Identifying emerging and future research fields, including nascent topics, interdisciplinary intersections, and paradigm shifts

* Supporting long-term strategic planning and investment decisions, such as capacity building, recruitment, and infrastructure development
