hei, pidetään pieni kokous liittyen siihen mitä laitteita genetiikan puolella tarvittaisiin (ks alla oleva Pekan viesti). Kokoonnutaan maanantaina 21.3. klo 12.15 PT302:ssa (näyttäisi olevan vapaana). Olen genetiikan osaston yhdyshenkilö tässä asiassa Outin sijasta. If you don't understand Finnish but have suggestions for new equipment that the department should purchase, ask someone to translate the message and discuss it in your reseach group. ---------------------------- Tiedekunnalla on taas jaossa perinteinen määräraha tutkimusedellytysten parantamiseen eli ns kallislaiteraha, jota voi käyttää myös pienlaitteiden hankkimiseen. Laiteryhmä toivoo, että esitykset kootaan oppiaineittain ja yksiköittäin (vastuuhenkilöiden lista ohessa, toivottavasti oikein), mutta minulle voi lähettää ehdotuksia myös suoraan. Ehdotukset on hyvä priorisoida. Liittäkää ehdotuksiin hinta-arvio ja lyhyt perustelu. Kallislaitteien hankintaa on syytä perustella käyttämällä tähän tarkoitukseen tehtyä lomaketta, jonka voi pyytää minulta. Listat olisi syytä toimittaa minulle viimeistään 28.3 (Pääsiäismaanantai), koska laitoksen pitää maaliskuun loppuun mennessä toimittaa lista tiedekuntaan. UPJ keskustelut

Hei Kaikki, Kuten tiedämme, maaliskuun aikana, ennen pääsiäistä, käydään UPJ keskustelut. Kukin käy keksusteluja esimiehensä kanssa. Monille tämä esimies on tutkimusryhmän johtaja, laboratoriohenkilökunnalle Tuulikki Pakonen. Opetushenkilökunta käy siis UPJ keskusteluja minun kanssani. Kaikki täyttävät asianmukaiset lomakkeet http://www.hallinto.oulu.fi/yhallint/henkil_st_palvelut/www/upj/lomakkeet/o…. Lisäksi täytetään tiedekunnan laatima tiedonkeruulomake (liitteenä), laaditaan julkaisuluettelo ja lyhyt C.V. keskustelua varten. Asiakirjat pitäisi toimittaa vähintään päivää ennen minulle. Keskustelussa siis tehdään työnantajalle ehdotus VAATI ja HENKI arvioista. MINISYMPOSIUM IN POPULATION GENETICS The graduate school of population genetics organises a minisymposium at the end of April in Hailuoto. Time: Thursday and Friday, April 21-22, 2005 Arrival: It is recommended to arrive Wednesday evening or very early Thursday morning to allow an early start on Thursday. It would be good to start on Thursday at 9.30 (allows arrival with the 8.30 ferry from Oulunsalo). Place: Bothnian Bay Research Station (Perämeren tutkimusasema) at Hailuoto outside Oulu Topic: Population genetics in general Aims: To allow research groups working with population genetics (researchers, postdocs and particularly PhD students) to meet and present their work. We also discuss the future plans of the graduate school (topics of the courses in 2005-6 and the new application for PhD positions for 2007-2010) Program: - The students and postdocs are encouraged to give short (about 20 min) congress presentations. Particularly students that have received financial support from the graduate school are asked to present their work. - There can also be longer presentations from each group ('plenary talks') and these can be given by senior group members. - We arrange a place for poster presentations - In addition to the talks, we have discussions about the future directions of the graduate school. Expenses: The graduate school covers the expenses from travel and accomodation. Registration: - to Pekka.Pamilo(a)oulu.fi (use this address also to ask any further information) - it would be good to have registrations by March 31 (hopefully already earlier), including the topic of the presentation and the desired time (20 min or longer) - the final scheme can be made after I know the number of participants and talks
